This, one of the most established hotels on the island of Zanzibar, is the perfect 3-star affordable destination for people who want an action-packed holiday. Great value for money, it’s an unpretentious resort with a fantastic vibe; fun and involving. Bungalow villas are simple and comfortable, the water sport facilities are brilliant and it even holds a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. A choice of two restaurants and two bars for the all-inclusive package plus an à la carte restaurant, although you’ll pay a supplement for that, will be sure to keep you content!

Why we like it

This is the resort that offers something to everyone; it’s a great all-round option for families, couples and groups of friends. If you don’t have kids, then don’t worry; there’s an adults only wing – a sort of hotel within a hotel without the shouts and laughter! Called the Nirvana wing, the rooms share a private infinity pool and personal terrace overlooking tropical foliage. Naturally, the beach is beautiful and there is a wide range of dining options. Busy and bustling, the Le Meridien is for those who love to be around people and, with Grand Baie so close, there really is something for everyone.

The Sunset Beach Resort is located on the quieter end of North Patong, ideal for those wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle of Patongs main strip but close enough to enjoy the action.
